ESSE LogoIn November 2013 the ESSL (European Slowpitch Softball League) was formed in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The founders were Darja Grimsic und Marc Stein. Drew Chesser joined the organisation and became the sports director of the ESSL league.

In 2018 Richard Foppen from the Netherlands joined the ESSL organization as a new board member.

 

In 2018 the ESSL had a West & Central Division with more teams joinining the league

2015

The league expended to Switzerland. 8 teams played 5 tournaments (Germany, Slovenia, Switzerland, Austria). The league teams Bad News Bombers (BNB) won the ESSL league championships and the Supercup in Linz, Austria.

In 2014 the first season started with 6 teams from three different countries (Austria, Germany and Slovenia). The Guzzlers Europe from Germany won the first ESSL League Championships.
