ESSL Long Ball Hitter Series 2015

At every ESSL tournament a total of 8 players participate in the Long Ball Hitter homerun derby. 6 players are qualified through the ESSL Long Ball Hitter ranking and two are selected by the ESSL committee. All 8 players will compete against each other in a single elimination round. First place winner will receive 8 points, 2nd place 7, 3rd place 6, 4th place 5, 5th place 4, 6th place 3, 6th place 2 and last place 1. Additionally, the points will be added to total number of homeruns hit during the tournament and will be kept as a statistic on the ESSL website under ESSL Long Ball Hitters.

Example: Jason Parker “Rhino” hits 8 homeruns during the tourney games and wins the HR Derby his total is now 16 points in the ESSL Long Ball Hitters.

For the first tournament the first six players from last year’s homerun derby are qualified:
1. Jason Parker “Rhino”
2. Toby Streubing
3. Jacob Hoskins
4. Drew Chesser “CoCo”
5. Hansel Cepada
6. Michael Kane

There will be a HR Derby held at each tournament in the same system as described above but based on total numbers seeding position can change and personnel can change based on total numbers of homeruns hit during the tourney. In the end the selection is based on the ESSL Long Ball Hitter ranking. Each HR Derby will be held prior to the Tournament Championship Game. If a player’s team is in the Championship game and hits a homerun those points will be added to the total once the tournament is complete and updated in the stats.

For the Western Division teams they will keep a total of homeruns hit and their homerun leader will earn a spot in the Finals HR Derby based on total number of homeruns hit.

The player with the highest number of points in the ESSL Long Ball Hitters at the end of the Finals will be crowned the ESSL Long Ball Hitter Champion.
