Both tournaments are played on a baseball field and based on the ASA / ESSL rules.

MIND: both are NON-official ESSL league tournaments but played on the ESSL rules.

]]> D.R. win ESSL Czech tournament undefeated https://www.softballeurope.com/2017/06/26/dr-win-essl-czech-tournament-undefeated/ Mon, 26 Jun 2017 20:22:55 +0000 http://www.softballeurope.com/?p=3372 With 6 wins and no losses the Dominican Republic team from Linz (Austria) won the ESSL Czech tournament in Chocen Czech Republic. With the second tournament win (Austria & Czech Republic) they are taking the lead in the ESSL. There is only one tournament left and D.R. has a very good chance to win the ESSL (European Slowpitch Softball League) title for the first time.

In the final game of the tournament D.R. Dominican Republic won it 16 to 6 against the Guzzlers USA. The defense of D.R. was well prepared against the Guzzlers’ hitters and slowed them down to a team batting average of .387. With a strong offense (team batting average .487) the pitcher of D.R., Inoa Gil Elias, was able to control the game and to pitch for the win.

    At the ESSL tournament in Choceň (Czech Republic) an ESSL All Star team will play an exhibtion game against the Czech Republic. For the Czech team the game is to experience the level of slowpitch in the ESSL and it is also a good preparation for the ESF XI. European Coed Slowpitch Championships from 11 – 15 of July in Sofia, Bulgaria. Coach of the ESSL All Star team will be Jose Faulk (Wiesbaden Eagles).

The season starts with the tournament in Linz Austria on May 20/21, next stop is Chocen (Czech Republic) and the ESSL league season ends in Almere (Netherlands) on August 12/13.

    In Linz and in Almere two fields will be available and in Chocen a field with lights.
