For the first time the ESSL finals will be played in the Netherlands. Before the top teams qualifiy for it they have to play two tournamwents in their division.
At the end of the season the SUPERCUP V takes place at MLB approved fields in Regensburg, Germany.

Eagles win ESSL West Division

With a 18 – 7 win against Uprising at the ESSL Almere tournament the Wiesbaden Eagles crowned themselves as the first ESSL West Division champion in the history of the ESSL.

The second and final ESSL West tournament takes place in Almere, Netherlands. The tournament is part of the biggest European slowpitch tournament – the Windmill Classic (WMC). For the teams the games start on Friday, 6th of July at 1100 and the championship game will be at 1330 hours on Saturday, 7th of July. After the ESSL competition the ESSL teams join the different WMC competitions.

At this tournament there is a lot to play for. You can win the ESSL Almere tournament, the ESSL West league and the different WMC competitions.

Dates for the ESSL 2018 season

In 2018 the ESSL will have two divisions WEST & CENTRAL. Each division will have two tournaments in their region. At the end around 8-10 teams, depending on the playing system, qualify for the ESSL finals in September in Linz, Austria.

June 2/3 in Brunssum, Netherlands
July 6/7 in Almere, Netherlands

The ESSL tournament in Almere will be played at the Windmill Classic (WMC) tournament (www.windmillclassic.com). Teams can play ESSL and the Windmill Classic competition (men, mixed, etc.). The entry fee of the WMC covers the ESSL tournament, too.

Wiesbaden Eagles win the ESSL Netherlands tournament in Almere . With the 14-4 win vs D.R. de Linz, the winner of the last two ESSL tournaments, the Eagles managed to reach the 3rd overall league ranking slightly before the Dutch National Slowpitch Team (DNT).

For the league season the ESSL will play in Austria, Czech Republic and in the Netherlands. The season starts with the tournament in Linz Austria on May 20/21, next stop is Chocen (Czech Republic) and the ESSL league season ends in Almere (Netherlands) on August 12/13.

In Linz and in Almere two fields will be available and in Chocen a field with lights.

The ESSL is heading into its 4th season and it seems like it will be an exciting year for all the teams. For the first time there will be no clear favorite as other strong European teams enter the ESSL.

In 2017 the ESSL league consists of three league tournaments and an additional Super Cup that will be hostes by the Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg.

In hopes of ultimately developing an International Slowpitch Softball Cup Tournament and generating national interest we will be holding a US All Stars vs European All Stars Exhibition Game at the Windmill Classic being held in Almere, NL July 4, 2015. Game will be at 1900 and be held at the Almere Complex.

Players will be selected from each European Team in the ESSL by position and asked to come and play in this one of a kind softball game.
