Scope: SuperCup & EuroCup men’s competition

Teams can qualify for the SuperCup and the EuroCup tournaments in Regensburg through qualification tournaments. The prerequisite is that the teams are registered as 360 Softball Europe teams before their first tournament. The final allocation of whether a team is a SuperCup or EuroCup team is determined by 360 Softball Europe based on both the team’s preference and its playing strength.

Once a team is qualified, the tournament fee for Regensburg must be paid within one week; otherwise, the spot will be given to the next-ranked team.

If a team is already qualified, then the teams still in the qualification process have priority to participate in a tournament. The already qualified teams will then be placed on the waiting list.

Guest teams that will not qualify for Regensburg are also allowed at each tournament. These teams can only participate if no other 360 Softball Europe teams take up the free spots at a tournament.

Players of a SuperCup team are designated as SuperCup players, and players of a EuroCup team are designated as EuroCup players. In general, players of a SuperCup team are not allowed to play for a EuroCup team, but players of a EuroCup team are allowed to play for a SuperCup team. If a player with SuperCup-level skills is intentionally registered and used as a EuroCup player, the game(s) will be forfeited and the player will be blocked for the tournament in Regensburg.

Additionally, a player’s skill level can be assessed by 360 Softball Europe upon request from the team to determine their classification. To do this, the team must send an e-mail to 360@softballeurope.com

For the tournament in Regensburg in October (SuperCup, EuroCup), players can switch to another team before the tournament if this corresponds to their classification. They must then be on the team roster. At the tournament in Regensburg a player is only allowed to play for one team.

For qualification, teams are only compared within their respective categories (SuperCup, EuroCup).

Team Roster

The following restrictions apply:

  • Only 1 USSSA Major or 1 Major Watch List player is allowed for the SuperCup category.
  • Players in the USA and Canada must have at least one Plate Appearance (PA) in a qualifier tournament or in the ESSC Super Series to be eligible to play in the SuperCup in Regensburg.
  • Only players living or staying in Europe and the Middle East are eligible for the EuroCup, provided that the players correspond to the classification/level.
  • ESSC Super Series: Players can only play for one team in the ESSC Super Series.
  • EuroCup qualifier tournaments (non-ESSC Super Series): Only EuroCup players can participate in EuroCup qualification tournaments. However, EuroCup players are allowed to play for SuperCup teams. Outside the ESSC Super Series, players can play for different teams according to their category.

ESSC Super Series

In the tournament series, teams compete for points based on the final tournament ranking. The distribution of points is based on 12 teams and is as follows:
1st place: 14 points
2nd place: 12 points
3rd place: 10 points
4th place: 9 points
5th place: 8 points
6th place: 7 points
7th place: 6 points
8th place: 5 points
9th place: 4 points
10th place: 3 points
11th place: 2 points
12th place: 1 point

The distribution of points remains unchanged with fewer teams. If the number of teams increases, teams beyond the 12th place receive 1 point each.

If two or more teams have the same amount of points the ranking will be determined by:

  1. Head-to-head
  2. Winning percentage of all games of the tournament. For a tied game a team receives 0.5 extra points for the ranking.
  3. Run difference
  4. Runs scored
  5. Runs allowed
  6. Coin-flip
