ESSL

Darja Grimsic leads the ESSL to the next step

Darja Grimsic, co-founder and board member of the ESSL, will lead the ESSL to the next step starting in 2018. As the contact person for the ESSL league she will work, together with the ESSL board, on the new WEST – CENTRAL structure. For more details read below.

Darja Grimsic has a diploma in economics and works as market researcher. But most of her projects are sports related. She is a softball & baseball coach and her new project is teaching teeball in primary schools around Slovenia. However, her biggest project in Slovenia is the new field for her club BSK Ljubljana Baseball & Softball.

ESSL West – Central

In order to develop the game of slowpitch and to extend it to other countries the ESSL will be played with two groups: WEST and CENTRAL. The groups are not based on local areas whereby teams can either play in the West or in the Central. However, the ESSL has to make sure that there are enough teams in each group.

Basic Concept

In each group two tournaments will be played.
In September the ESSL finals take place where a certain amount of teams are directly qualified for the DE (e.g. first two of each group). On Saturday these teams play against each other to determine the ranking for the DE. The other not directly qualified teams will play against each other for the additional spots for the DE. Teams that don’t make it to the DE play for the final league ranking on Sunday.
With the DE round the ESSL champion will be determined.

Details and dates for the 2018 season will be out soon.
